Code Enforcement, Planning, and Zoning

The Code Enforcement, Planning, and Zoning Department handles inquiries on existing zoning, potential new development, regulations for signs, neighborhood nuisance properties, and may other issues.

The Department prepares background data on proposed zoning changes, looks at site plans to ensure all proposed developments meet criteria of the Town’s Zoning Ordinance, follows up on complaints about possible Town code violations, and writes information on land usage issues for the public and elected officials.

The department provides staff support for the Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. Mapping and GIS services of the Town and infrastructure in the Town is also a responsibility of the Department.
