The Town of Warsaw seeks qualified applicants to fill a Public Works General Laborer position. Though this is an entry level position, some general maintenance work experience is preferred. Must possess a NC driver license and be able to acquire CDL (Class B) within six months. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds, routinely work outside in the heat and cold and be exposed to dirt, mud, and dust. Primarily, work is picking up debris, junk, limbs and leaves. Work will be performed by hand and with mechanical equipment. Under general supervision, employee will use chain saws, mowers, and other equipment and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

In accordance with North Carolina General Statutes, Article 21 Chapter 143.215.1C, the following press release has been prepared and is hereby issued to the local newspaper in the affected area. The Town of Warsaw Wastewater Collection System experienced a sanitary sewer overflow on Thursday, November 12, 2020 due to excessive rainfall from remnants of Tropical Storm Eta. The estimated duration of the overflow was four hours and 40 minutes. The sanitary sewer overflow occurred at manholes in a grassy area at the head of the Warsaw Wastewater Treatment Plant (384 E. Best Street). Approximately 2,800 gallons overflowed from the manholes.
